PURPOSE:To make a reproducing speed higher than a recording speed and to more quickly transmit information by accelerating the reproduction timing clock of a voice recording and reproducing circuit in case of executing the reproduction in an automatic answering telephone set which can record and reproduce the voice. CONSTITUTION:When a reproduction switch 15 is switched ON, a message stored in a storage element 11 is reproduced in the voice recording and reproducing circuit 10 under the control of a parallel I/O and a CPU 13 and a voice signal is amplified in an amplification circuit 16 to be outputted from a speaker 17. In this case, the parallel I/O 12 makes the timing clock which is detected by the CPU 13, controls a clock generation circuit 14 and given to the voice recording and reproducing circuit 10 variable, so that the reproducing speed can be increased. Thus the telephone set can reproduce more quickly than it records, so that the information can be quickly transmitted.
