PURPOSE:To uniformly set a picture element interval on a main scanning direction which is printed onto a film, and to improve the picture quality of a reproduced image, by correcting a delay quantity against the beam speed variation of an exposure clock frequency by using a high frequency component. CONSTITUTION:The pulse signal of a frequency corresponding to the scanning speed of a laser beam outputted from a grating sensor 13 is frequency-multiplied by a PLL circuit in an exposure clock generating circuit 33 and a reference signal added with a high frequency component to an original signal having a voltage value corresponding to a multiple frequency is formed, and from this reference signal, the high frequency component is extracted and amplified, and added to the reference signal, this added signal is brought to a voltage/ frequency conversion and an exposure clock is generated, and based on this exposure clock, the driving of an optical modulator 3 is controlled. The delay of a frequency variation of the exposure clock, against a speed variation on a film of a recording laser beam 7 is compensated by the high frequency component. In this way, exposure recording can be executed by setting uniformly a picture element interval on the main scanning direction, and the picture quality can be improved.
