PURPOSE:To make spring constant variable in a suspension system wherein a laminated spring is used by mounting a cylinder mechanism which operates on oil pressure or other efforts on the middle part in the direction of the length of the laminated spring and disposing a shock absorber between the end of the piston and a car body. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic cylinder mechanism 10, 10 is mounted on the middle part in the direction of the length of a laminated spring 4, as wide as occupying to the vicinities of both ends of the spring and a shock absorbing member 25 is disposed between the end of a piston between a car frame 1, said spring and member being integrally oscillated in the vertically direction by the action of the hydraulic cylinder 10. When an oil pressure is applied in the hydraulic cylinder 10 to force the piston 12 up, the shock absorbing member 25 is also lifted to contact with the car frame, hence having the supporting point of the laminated spring 4 shifted to the shock absorbing member 25. The spring constant may be thereby increased. By lowering the piston 13, spring plates 5a to 5c and friction plates 36 and 37 between a slide plate 30 and a fastening plate 31 are fastened to increase friction force so that dynamic spring constant may be increased. Spring constant may be made variable in the aforementioned manner. |
