The invention relates to an anhydrous macromolecular material having proton conduction, characterised in that it consists essentially of a solid solution of at least one acid salt of a strong acid derived from an alkaline cation of formula: [M<->]x[HyXO4]<x-> in which: M<+> is an alkali metal ion or the ammonium ion X is a sulphur, selenium or phosphorus atom x and y are non-zero indices consisting of whole numbers which can take values such as (x=1, y=1), (x=2, y=1) or (x=1, y=2), dissolved in a polymer - homo- and/or copolymer - having linear or crosslinked chains containing hetero atoms capable of forming complexes with the released proton species or proton species which can be released by the acid salt of a strong acid. Use of these macromolecular materials according to the invention as electrolytes, electrodes or both, in electrochemical generators.
