PURPOSE:To smoothly perform switching further to improve efficiency, by controlling speed ratio of a continuously variable transmission means so that an interrupted connection part relative speed in a joint means, arranged in the other side continuously variable transmission means, decreases to zero, when the continuously variable transmission means is switched. CONSTITUTION:A speed Ne of an engine E/G is transmitted to output shafts 51, 52 through a torque converter 10, in the time of low speed, and through a CVT20 in the time of high speed, and the engine, in the time of low speed, sets target speed ratio Nout/Nin of the CVT20 to Nout/Ne, where Ne=Nin, and a slide part relative speed of a clutch C2 to zero. In this way, switching from a low speed route to a high speed route can be smoothly performed. While the transmission, after it is switched to the high speed route, is controlled to the target speed ratio eo in accordance with a car speed-throttle opening map, accordingly efficiency is improved.
