PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer printing method and a thermal transfer material to be used therefor with which a pattern can be formed easily and printing can be performed at low cost even if the number of printing sheets is small. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer material A is made of a transparent plastic film 1 provided with mold release property having a thermal transfer layer 2 provided thereon. The thermal transfer layer 2 of the thermal transfer material A is cut into proper pattern. Other parts than the pattern are peeled off from the plastic film 1. The side of the thermal transfer layer 2 is applied to a transfer medium, it is heated from the side of the plastic film 1 so as to transfer the thermal transfer layer 2 at the pattern to the transfer medium. |
