PURPOSE:To increase the strength at the point where a chaplet is embedded and to prevent the leakage of the fluid passed in the hollow part of a casting by providing plural molten metal packing holes communicating with each other in such a manner that both divided leg parts of the chaplet do not overlap on each other. CONSTITUTION:The bottom end of a core N is inserted into the body part 2 of the chaplet 1 and the top end of the core N is supported by a master mold. The ends of both leg parts 3 of the chaplet 1 are mounted in the supporting grooves of the master mold and are embraced by the master mold by which the core N is supported. A molten metal, when poured into the mold, flows into the molding cavity and is also packed into holes 4 provided to the respective divided leg parts 3a of the chaplet 1 and the communicating parts 4a of the holes 4. The adhesiveness between both the divided leg parts 3a is thereby enhanced and the strength is improved as well. The leakage of the fluid such as oil passed in the hollow part of the casting to the outside is prevented. |
