Device for efficiently clamping the blade of a preserve can opener onto the crimping of the can to be opened and releasing it therefrom, in a single gesture, this taking place against the notched roller. The invention relates to a device making it possible, in a single gesture, to clamp the blade of a preserve can opener against the crimping of the said can and to release it therefrom, thereby giving rise to efficient opening, with clamping controlled by the operator preventing the blocking or the skidding of the notched roller over the edge of the can to be opened. It consists of a block 1 on which is articulated 14 a blade holder 9 always separated from the block 1 in the rest position, by virtue of two trapped springs located at 39. A lever 26 or 36 articulated on the block 1 causes, when it is lowered by the operator, gripping of the blade and thus the opening of the can driven by the notched roller 3 moved by a motor or a crank. The device according to the invention is intended particularly for the efficient opening of crimped preserve cans, regardless of their shape. <IMAGE>
