Process for separating a substance from a mixture of substances

A process for separating off a substance from a mixture of substances by thermal phase transformation is described. In the process, the substances are brought into indirect thermal contact with the circulating medium of a closed circulation system. The circulating medium is compressed during this, condensed, expanded and vaporised. In order to avoid uneven ice formation in the heat exchanger and thus to increase the operational reliability and the service life of the heat exchanger, it is proposed to supercool the compressed and condensed circulating medium upstream of the heat exchange with the mixture of substances to be separated in heat exchange with expanded circulating medium and then to heat it in heat exchange with the mixture of substances with the absorption exclusively of sensible heat.
