PURPOSE:To securely detect the energy of a laser beam by passing the laser beam through an integrating sphere which has an input and an output port, and reflecting part of the laser beam into the integrating sphere by a laser beam scattering device. CONSTITUTION:The integrating sphere has the input port 2 and output port 2 and the laser beam 4 is passed between both ports 2 and 3. The laser beam scattering device 5 composed of a wire 7 extended at a constant interval so as to cross the beam 4 is fitted to the output port 3, part of the beam 4 is reflected into the integrating sphere 1 by this scattering device 5, and the reflected beam 4 is reflected irregularly by the internal surface of the integrating sphere 1 to uniform the energy of the beam 4. Then a laser detector 6 fitted to the integrating sphere 1 detects the energy of the beam 4. The diameter of the laser beam 4 of a CO2 laser oscillator is about 15-30mm, so the diameter of the wire 7 is preferably <=1/100 or about 0.02-0.2mm. |
