PURPOSE:To obtain a portable medium whose safety is high, by generating a voltage required for writing a data to a data memory by an applied driving voltage, when a driving voltage for driving a control element is applied. CONSTITUTION:When an IC card 1 is inserted, the IC card 1 is connected electrically to a read/write device 34 by a connecting part 2, and an operating voltage Vcc is applied to a boosting circuit 6 through the terminal 2a of the connecting part 2. The boosting circuit 6 generates a write voltage Vpp and a control voltage Vcc'. As a result, the control voltage Vcc' is applied to each part of a microprocessor 3, a data memory 4, and an interface circuit 5. Subsequently, the microprocessor 3 outputs a connecting signal to a CPU through the interface circuit 5, the connecting part 2 and the read/write device 34. |
