PURPOSE:To securely detect the energy of a laser beam by providing a laser detector for detecting the energy of a laser beam which is reflected and uniformed by a laser beam scattering device and an integrating sphere. CONSTITUTION:The integrating sphere 1 has an input port 2 and an output port and the laser beam is passed between both ports 2 and 3. The laser beam scattering device 5 composed of a chopper 7 which is rotated by a motor 8 and crosses the beam 4 is provided to the output port 3, and this chopper 7 is rotated by the motor 8 at a high speed to reflect part of the beam periodically into the integrating sphere 1; and the beam 4 is reflected irregularly by the internal surface of the integrating sphere 1 to uniform the energy of the beam, and a laser detector 6 fitted to the integrating sphere 1 detects the energy. The chopper 7 is made of a thin wire material of Cu, Pt, etc., and the diameter of the laser beam 4 from a carbon oxide gas laser oscillator is about 15-30mm, so the width of the chopper 7 is <=1/10 it or about 0.2-2mm. |
