A power source for electrical discharge machining which allows electrical discharge machining with large current and also permits a reverse voltage to be applied between an electrode (P) and a work (W). A discharge circuit is provided therein with a feedback circuit for feeding back to a power supply circuit (1) the energy accumulated in inductances (L1, L2) in the discharge circuit. Further, the feedback circuit is provided therein with a reverse-voltage application circuit. Thus, it is possible to protect switching elements (T2, T3) from the surge voltage and also protect the work (W) from the electrolytic corrosion. |
