The card-holder is configured like a frame which is comprised of a rigid part (1) having, on the major part of its circumference, a cross section (2) of which at least the inner edge (3) is shaped like a U in order to retain the credit or debit card (11). Said cross section extends on a short side (5) of the frame as well as on most of the long sides (6, 7). The other short side (8) as well as the parts adjacent to the long sides have a substantially L-shaped cross section (10), an opening or recess (9) transforming the U cross section into the latter. To release and remove the card (11) which at least on one of its faces is surrounded by the card holder, the conventional flexibility of the card is used by slightly folding it with the fingers of the hand so that the card is removed from the L section (10) and may than be removed from the card holder.
