Method for sealing an electrical cable

A method is proposed for sealing an electrical cable which consists of a plurality of insulated cable wires arranged in an insulating hose, in the case of which method a section of the end region which is located at a relatively short distance from the edge of the insulating hose is pressed relatively tightly against the cable wires by means of a device in order to achieve, in particular, a minimal use of labour and material, and the other end section is held in a guiding manner in that a relatively small amount of a sealing compound, which becomes effective quickly, is introduced from the edge of the insulating hose by means of an injection needle into a zone of the end section located above the section which is pressed together (the compressed section), in that the end zone (which is located thereabove) of the end section of the insulating hose is filled with the potting compound, and in that the cable is removed from the device after the potting compound has solidified.
