PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of inversional fogging by setting up the potential of a bright part of an electrostatic latent image to an objective bright part potential level so that a potential difference between a reexposure potential and developing bias potential is set up to <= a potential difference preventing the generation of inversional fogging. CONSTITUTION:A model electrostatic latent image is reexposed by a 2nd exposing device 3, the reexposure potential of the reexposed latent image is detected by a potential sensor 4 and an objective potential level obtained by adding a prescribed potential value to the detected reexposure potential value is calculated by a control device 31. The exposure of a 1st exposing device 11 controlled by the control device 31 so that the model potential of the model electrostatic latent image based on the exposure of the 1st exposing device 11 is equal to the calculated objective potential. Thereby, the bright part potential of the electrostatic latent image is set up to the objective bright part potential so that the potential difference between the reexposed potential and the developing bias potential is <= the potential difference preventing the generation of inversional fogging. Thus, the generation of inversional fogging can be prevented. |
