摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title high-specific gravity copolymer excellent in capability of frictional electrification and flow and useful as an antistatic agent of an electrophotographic developer, a diagnostic agent, a substitute for red blood cells or the like, by copolymerizing styrene or methyl methacrylate with a specified fluorinated vinyl monomer. CONSTITUTION:99-1mol of styrene or methyl methacrylate (A) and 1-99mol of a fluorinated vinyl monomer (B) of formula I are emulsified in water (C) in an amount to give an (A+B) to C volume ratio of 10/90-45/55 and copolymerized with each other at 45-80 deg.C for 5-45hr in the presence of a polymerization initiator (D) in an amount to give a concentration of 10<-5>-5X10<-2>mol/l to the aqueous solution to obtain the title copolymer of an MW of 20,000-1,000,000, having a structure composed of linearly and randomly arranged styrene units or methyl methacrylate units and monomer units of formula II (these two monomer units are present at a molar ratio of 99/1-1/99).
