摘要 The invention relates to a rotational viscometer which is used to determine the viscosity of flowable media in pipelines and containers within production processes and in pilot plants. The invention is intended to avoid the arrangement of coupling parts and bearing parts in the pressurised chamber of the viscometer and to eliminate any contact by such parts with the media to be measured. The object is achieved by providing a connection for the supply of pressurised gas above the measuring cell of the rotational viscometer in the jacket of the immersion probe, which connection is in communication with the interior of the measuring cell via the interior of the immersion probe, an opening in the support plate of the immersion probe and the guide bore for the drive shaft of the rotor, and by sealing that part of the interior which accommodates the drive shaft in a gas-tight manner from that part of the interior which conveys pressurised gas and by providing a safety valve exposed to the pressurised gas either in the jacket of the immersion probe or in its support plate.
