A device for transporting articles consisting at least partially of rigid foamed plastic or similar material, in particular in the form of plate-like packages, has a rectangular base (1) on which two interconnected side walls (2) are connected at two opposite sides. In such a device, particularly simple loading and unloading are achieved if the base (1) is designed as an essentially square grid pallet with connection constructions (3) for coupling on further devices of identical construction, and the two side walls (2) and a central intermediate wall (4), connecting said side walls and the base (1) to one another and disposed perpendicular to the side walls (2) and to the base (1), being constructed as frameworks. <IMAGE>
