PURPOSE:To facilitate the transfer of dye to a material to be transferred and to enhance the fastness of a formed images, by a method wherein a dye holding layer containing a dye shown by a specific formula is held on one surface of a substrate sheet to form a thermal transfer sheet. CONSTITUTION:On one surface of a substrate sheet, a dye holding layer containing a dye shown by a formula I (where X1, X2 represent two alkyl groups, alkoxy groups, or halogen atoms existing at the para- or meta-position, R1 represents hydrogen atom, one or more alkyl groups, aryl groups, arylalkyl groups, alkoxy groups, halogen atoms, hydroxyl groups, amino groups, alkylamino groups, acylamino groups, sulfonylamino groups, aminocarbonyl groups, nitro groups, or the like, and R2, R3 represent alkyl group) is provided to form a thermal transfer sheet. |
