PURPOSE:To make parallelism between a tool reference plane and a machining part machinable in a highly accurate manner, by setting up a device, detecting a tilt of the tool reference plane for a workpiece being held by a rotary table, so as to be opposed to this table. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 21 is mounted on a rotary table 25, and this table 25 is made to ascend to a measuring position, while a sensor 24 is operated, rotating the table 25 a turn. At this time, a turning angle of the rotary table 25, where the measured value of this sensor 24 comes to the maximum and the minimum, is detected. After finding a tilting direction and a tilting quantity in a tool reference plane of the workpiece 21 on the basis of this detection, the rotary table 25 is rotated. And, when the workpiece 21 is transferred to a chuck 20 on a index table 19, indexing of the workpiece 21 is carried out so as to cause the tilting direction of the tool reference plane of the workpiece 21 to become paralleled with a shaft 13 supporting a base 17. Next, when the rotary table descends, a transfer device 26 is operated, transferring the workpiece 21 to the chuck 20 from the rotary table. |
