PURPOSE:To improve the extent of supporting rigidity, by having an upper case pivotally supported at the upper side of strut, and making the pivotal supporting length between the strut and the case larger, in case of a device which is provided with a lower case to be supported on the strut at the vehicle side and a case consisting of the upper case being locked to this lower case. CONSTITUTION:A strut 23 is solidly installed in a base at the lower part of a vehicle side member 21, and a lower case 24 and an upper case 24 are supported on this strut 23. A frame 26 inclusive of a mirror actuator unit 27 is solidly formed in this upper case 25, and a mirror body 28 is locked to this frame 26. In addition, an electric motor 29, a speed reducing mechanism consisting of a planetary gear mechanism and so on are housed in both these cases 24 and 25, and a driving gear 35 to which a final gear 34 is engaged is splined to an upper part of the strut 23. And, the upper case 25 is formed into almost inversed U-shaped sectional form, and it is made possible to partition a sufficient storage space between both together with the lower case 24. The final gear 34 is pivotally supported on a shaft 39 to be paralleled with the strut 23 together with planetary gears 30-32 of the speed reducing mechanism. |
