<p>PURPOSE:To increase the activity of cellular growth, by applying an AC electric field to a cell suspension, attracting cells onto diaphragms by migration and applying a DC electric field to cells causing pairing on the diaphragm. CONSTITUTION: A cell suspension 11 containing heterologous cells 12 (A species or B species) is put in a gap between a diaphragm 7 and electrode 5 of a fusion chamber 1 and an AC electric field is applied across the electrodes using an AC electric field generator 2. As a result, the line density of electric force in a part of the electrode 6 is higher than that in a part of the electrode 5 by a difference in area of the electrodes and the cells 12 are attracted to the electrode 6 to stick and fix on the diaphragm 7. When the AC electric field is applied for a while, the A species cells 12 stick onto the A species cells 12 to cause pairing. At this time, a switch 4 is changed over to a DC pulse generator 3 and DC pulses are applied to initiate mutual fusion of the cells on the diaphragm 7.</p> |
