PURPOSE:To enhance tensile strength and Young's modulus and to reduce the anisotropy of said characteristics in a plate surface, by unidirectionally rolling a polymer material extruded while kneaded under heating in a plastic state and further rolling the same in the direction crossing the unidirectional rolling at a right angle without lowering the temp. of the polymer material to the vicinity of room temp. CONSTITUTION:The polymer material extruded while continuously kneaded under heating by an extruder 2 is rolled in one direction, for example, in the longitudinal direction under a temp. region of m.p. or less by a longitudinal direction rolling machine 3 and subsequently rolled by reciprocating the rolling roll of a tentering rolling machine 4 in the direction crossing the longitudinal direction almost at a right angle, for example, in the lateral direction without lowering the temp. of the polymer material to the vicinity of room temp. to continuously perform extrusion, longitudinal direction rolling and lateral direction rolling. The plate material of the polymer material thus formed has high tensile strength and high Young's modulus and the anisotropy of said characteristics in the plate surface is low. Since this method is made consistently continuous from extrusion to the plate material product, productivity is high. |
