Line protection circuit breaker

Line protection circuit breakers which contain a magnetic trip device with a yoke, and an arc extinguishing chamber with arc guide rails are used for thermal protection of installed electrical cables. The magnetic trip device and arc extinguishing chamber are arranged directly adjacent, so that one yoke limb at the same time acts as an outer arc guide rail. In order to combine a compact design of the line protection circuit breaker with fast, safe guidance and quick extinguishing of the arc, that yoke limb which acts as an arc guide rail is provided with a rib which is directed parallel to the arc running direction and to the arc extinguishing chamber, can project beyond the magnetic trip device, and can preferably be arranged centrally on the yoke limb. <IMAGE>
