PURPOSE:To obtain an air conditioner light in weight, small in volume and thin in form, by using a thermoelectric element in place of a compressor and using a cross flow fan as a blower. CONSTITUTION:Cross flow fans 4, 5 for discharging air through blow-off ports 2, 3 are provided in a casing 1, and a thermoelectric module 9 comprising a multiplicity of thermoelectric elements is embedded in an intermediate part in the vertical direction of a partition wall 8 over the entire lateral length of the wall. With the upper and lower cross flow fans 4, 5 driven, upward and downward airflows are generated in the casing 1 with the wall 8 as a boundary, and air sucked in through a suction port 6 by the lower fan 4 is passed through the position of fins 10 on the front side in the casing 1, and is blown off to the front side through the port 2. With the module 9 energized, the module 9 is cooled on the front side and heated on the rear side. Therefore, air sucked in from the front side is cooled while passing through the position of the fins 10, and is blown off to the front side, whereas air sucked in from the rear side is heated while passing through the position of fins 11, and is blown off to the rear side. |
