PURPOSE:To simplify constitution and to ensure operation, by a method wherein, in a title device for an automobile, the state of a cover body is discriminated through detection of the uneven surface part of a cam, rotated in linkage with opening and closing of the cover body to display the state of the cover, and opening and closing drive is effected according to a control signal. CONSTITUTION:Cams 30a and 30b are rotated through opening and closing of a cover body. In this case, the uneven surface parts 31-34 of the cams 30a and 30b actuate position detecting switches 35 and 36 to output a detecting signal to a deciding means (a). By means of the signal, the deciding means (a) discriminates whether a cover body is brought into a full opening or a full closed state, or is in an intermediate position to display the result in a display means (b). An operator controls a control means (c) of the cover body as the operator watches the display. When a control signal is inputted to a drive means (d), the drive means (d) compares the control signal with a deciding result from the deciding means (a) to drive the cover body in an optimum order. This constitution enables execution of reliable operation through simple constitution. |
