The invention relates to the regulation of a wet flue-gas desulphurisation plant in which the absorption agent used is a circulating limestone suspension which is continuously replaced. The regulation of the addition of limestone powder is carried out as a function of the carbonate content of the circulating suspension, so that there can be no breakthrough of the SO2 peaks in the emission values with oscillating SO2 content in the waste gas within a certain bandwidth. For this purpose, a constant part in the order of some millilitres per minute are continually taken from the circulating limestone suspension and conducted via a branchline (1, 2) which branches off from the feedline (4) for the sorption suspension to the SO2 absorber (5). The branchline (1, 2) is divided by means of a multi-way valve into two parts (1, 2) which are influenced by the setting of the multi-way valve in such a way that in one position the parts (1, 2) has gas flowing through and in the other position only part one has gas flowing through, while the second part is connected to a reaction vessel (6), so that the respective line content can be regarded as content of the measurement vessel which contains a constant volume of a suspension which is split into a solution or suspension and a gas buffer in the reaction vessel (6) by interaction with an acid.
