Automatically opening safety belt lock

Positively lockable safety belt lock which can be manually opened at any time in a conventional fashion and contains in addition an electrically or pneumatically actuable adjustment system which charges an energy storage unit when the opening command is emitted and the stored energy of which unlocks the lock, permitting it to spring open, either immediately or after the lock bolt has been released, without another opening command or the supply of additional energy. The energy storage unit may, on the other hand, be charged by means of the forces manually exerted when the lock is fastened and the electrically or pneumatically actuable adjustment system releases the energy to unlock the locking tongue when the opening command is emitted. The energy storage units are mechanically locked against back discharge after charging, unlocking occurring by means of different systems once the lock has sprung open, i.e. repeatability of the lock is ensured. The lock opening command is emitted by processing the information contained in sensor signals and can be emitted to permit occupants to leave the vehicle in a normal manner or after accidents.
