摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance reliability, by forming a film to the peripheral surface of an end part from a polarographic cathode material and forming an insulating film thereto so as to expose only the end surface of said film. CONSTITUTION:A polarographic cathode material composed of gold or platinum is applied to the peripheral surface of the end part of a rod-shaped insulating substrate 2 composed of glass or a polymer material to constitute a cathode forming film 1. An electric insulating film 3 is formed to a cathode surface 1a by coating or sputtering so as to expose only the end surface of the film 1. A cathode 4 is formed of silver so as to leave a definite creeping distance from the cathode surface 1a. By forming this cathode structure by the method mentioned above, a uniform product can be produced in large quantities and, since a cathode material is formed to the surface of the insulating substrate in a film form, the close adhesiveness and stretchability of the cathode material are enhanced and the reliability of a measuring electrode can be enhanced.
