PURPOSE:To make it possible to shorten the operating time and to reduce the number of parts by a method wherein a hold-down member abuts against a member to be caulked before a pressurizing jig abuts to fix the member to be caulked and, after that, the pressurizing jig presses the member to be caulked so as to caulk it. CONSTITUTION:A hold-down member 11, which is fixed onto the under surface of a holder 9, is made of urethane-based rubber and forms annularly so as to correspond to a slip ring 4. The lower end face of the hold-down member 11 is made lower than the lower end face of a pressurizing jig 10. The difference between the height of the hold-down member 11 and that of the pressurizing jig 10 or the gap between the lower end face of the pressurizing jig 10 and a projected part 5 under the state that the hold-down member 11 contacts the slip ring 4 is set to be about 2 mm, for example, The hold-down member 11 firstly contacts the slip ring 4. Next, the pressurizing jig 10 contacts the projected part 5 and crushes the part 5 so as to caulk the slip ring. As a result, no deformation of the slip ring 4 occurs and the slip ring 4 can be fixed accurately to a lower cover 2 at the predetermined position. At the same time, neither much labour nor long operating time are required and the number of parts can be reduced. |
