摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a cast sample of steel of substantially different hardness to be thin cut in a high speed further to reduce the processing time, by equipping a cutting device with a cutting speed control means which sets a driving speed in a traversing direction of a cut driving means in accordance with a preset cutting speed and a current detection value of an electric motor. CONSTITUTION:In a cutting speed setting means 1, a driving speed of a grinding wheel in its direction traversing a sample, that is, a cutting speed low decreases, if the means 1 sets the cutting speed to a low value, while high increases if the cutting speed is set to a high value. Further a current of an electric motor 12, driving the grinding wheel, is detected by a current detecting means 8, and when a large load is applied to the motor 12 by high hardness of the sample, a current of the motor 12 large increases, here a cutting speed control means 6 decreases the cutting speed in response to an increase of the current. When the sample provides low hardness, the current of the motor 12 small decreases, and the cutting speed control means 6 increases the cutting speed to a high value. As the result, a cutting device prevents the sample from burning by cutting the high hardness sample or cutting accuracy from worsening further high increases cutting efficiency for low hardness.
