PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to provide a polarizing filter in front of a CRT, by using a liquid crystal display plate having an appropriate polarizing plane instead of the CRT. CONSTITUTION:A face (a) is placed vertically against a face (b) so that the face (a) and the face (b) of dot matrix liquid crystal display plates 9, 10 share one side, and both the face (a) and the face (b) have the same polarizing plane. A fact that the face (a) and the face (b) have the same polarizing plane means, for instance, in equal to have a polarization of left-downward 45 deg., and as far as it is concerned, right-downward 45 deg. is also allowable. For instance, in case of displaying a character of 'A', it must be displayed in an erect state and an inverted state, on the face (a) and the face (b), respectively. As a result, display screens of the face (a) and the face (b) are viewed in a superposed state in case they have transmitted through or have been reflected by a face (c) of a half mirror 4, and recognized as a stereoscopic image when they are viewed by putting on polarizing spectacles. In this way, by using two liquid crystal display plates having an appropriate polarizing plane, a polarizing filter placed in front of a CRT becomes unnecessary. |
