PURPOSE:To perform the denitration of the flue gas generated from a low grade coal firing boiler by a small amount of a catalyst, by forming a denitration catalyst reducing nitrogen oxide to ammonia from a specific catalytic composition containing Zn. CONSTITUTION:A denitration catalyst having a zeolite structure represented by formula I (wherein M is metal ions consisting of one or more kind of elements selected from Fe, Cu and H and Zn, x is the average valence of the aforementioned ions and y is an integer of 10-40) is formed. This denitration catalyst has such a property that Zn therein is preferentially adsorbed by an adsorbing point such as CaO, As2O3 or SeO2 to inhibit the adsorption of said compounds and imparts no effect to denitration activity due to Fe, Cu or H and, therefore, the deterioration of the catalyst can be prevented. |
