The invention relates to an automatic apparatus for movements of cash. This apparatus comprises an automatic cash receiver/dispenser and a receiver/dispenser of account slips equivalent to cash in commercial transactions. One of a first means according to which cash only may be delivered by the cash dispenser and a second mode according to which either cash may be dispensed by the cash dispenser or an account slip may be dispensed by the account slip dispenser according to the choice of the customer, is selected at a given instant with the aid of a keyboard. In response to the selection of the second mode by the means and to the selection by the customer of the dispensing of an account slip, the account slip dispenser is ordered to deliver an account slip. The apparatus also comprises a card reader/recorder for reading the information recorded on the credit card.
