Contactless distance measurement devices (3) determine the distances to at least two points (5) on the surface of the body (1) along pref. fixed and discrete measurement directions. The points lie on different sides of a reference line (6) and in one cross-section or cross-sectional element of the body. - The measurements are performed in two fully or partially opposed measurement directions (4) along the length of the body and intersecting at a point (7) on the reference line at an angle (d) to the line (6). Alternatively or in addition, the measurements are performed in directions parallel to the processing planes (4') and reference line. The distance information so obtained is used to determine a given lateral orientation or position and/or a given shape.
|
