PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of preservation stability of a photosensitive material effectively and to obtain a distinct picture image having high sensitivity by using a guanidine deriv. having solubility in water in a specified range as the basic compd. CONSTITUTION:Guanidine derivs. to be used for the photosensitive material have <=0.1% water solubility at 25 deg.C, but it is more preferable that the solubility is <=0.01%. The guanidine derivs. having >=10 pKa are selectively used. Such guanidine derivs. expressed by the formula I are preferred. The guanidine derivs. have effect for improving the preservation stability of photosensitive materials, but the possibility of causing contact of the basic compd. with each component in a photosensitive layer during the stages from the prepn. to the use of the photosensitive material is almost completely eliminated by the use of a photosensitive material constituted in such a manner that the basic compd. is isolated from the components contained in the photosensitive layer. |
