A flat, rectangular base is provided with a slot (14) for receiving the stem (20) of an upright marker (16), preferably of the flat cone type, with resilient securing means for latchingly or frictionally engaging said stem (20) to restrain removal of the marker (16), and with release means for moving the securing means to a release position. The stem-engaging means are formed on a wall of the slot (14) integral with an area (36) of the base adapted to, under foot pressure, cause said wall to bend out of restraining position. The upper edge of a side (8b) of the base is chamfered so as to extend at a small acute angle (A) to the ground and is provided with a reflective coating or/and stud. At opposite ends the base features male/female type means (22, 24) adapted to loosely interfit, by vertical, self-centering assembly, with adjacent bases, allowing also curved arraying of the bases. |
