PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a high performance thermoelement, by forming a thermoelectric material layer on the entire surface of a heat insulating and heat resisting substrate by a thick film method, laminating the layers, performing sintering, dividing the sintered body at a specified interval, and therafter forming an electrode. CONSTITUTION:A thermoelectric material 2 is formed on, e.g., quartz glass 1 as a heat insulating and resisting substrate by a thick film method. Then the quartz glass plates 1, on which the thermoelectric materials 2 are formed, are laminated so that N-type thermoelectric materials 3 and P-type thermoelectric materials 4 are alternately arranged. Sintering is performed in a nitrogen atmosphere. The laminated sintered body obtained in this way is divided by cutting and the like vertically with respect to the laminating surface at a specified interval in parallel with the direction so as to impart temperature difference. Thereafter an electrode 7 is formed. Thus a high performance thermoelement can be manufactured simply. |
