PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrathin polymer membrane excellent in heat resistance and mechanical characteristics, by mixing a polymer compound modified so as to be capable of being formed into a film with a known LB film compound and forming the resulting mixture into a film by an LB method. CONSTITUTION:One of LB film materials to be used is a polymer compound containing at least one 10-30C hydrocarbon-containing group R3 which has a linear repeating unit, wherein the first org. group R1 of which the valence is at least two having at least two carbon atoms and the second org. group R2 of which the valence is at least two having at least two carbon atoms are alternately bonded by a divalent bonding group, and which contains the substituent bonded to the same repeating unit according to circumstances. This polymer compound forms a further stable film on the surface of water along with a known LB film material and, when the known LB film compound is scattered by partial cyclization, a ultrathin film having a thickness of 10,000Angstrom or less is formed. |
