PURPOSE:To provided superior formalin resistance to a photosensitive material by incorporating a specified pyrazoloazole series magenta coupler having a substd. phenyl group at the 6-position into the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A pyrazoloazole series magenta coupler having a substd. phenyl group at the 6-position and represented by the formula is incorporated into a silver halide color photographic sensitive material. In the formula, R1 is a substituent, R2 is H or a substituent, m=1-4, each of Za-Zc is methine, substd. methine, methylene, =N- or -NH-, one Za-Zb and Zb-Zc bond is a double bond, the other is a single bond, Za-Zc form a pyrazoloazole ring in combination, X is H or a group releasable by coupling and each of substituents represented by R1 and R2 may be halogen, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy, amino, cyano, nitro, hydroxy or carboxyl. Superior formalin resistance is provided to the sensitive material and the shelf stability of a dye can be improved. |
