PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the heat generating part on the tip side of a ceramic heater type glow plug long in an axial direction and to reduce the size of the tip side of the glow plug. By pressing the outer peripheral part of a part on the rear end side, where the ceramic heat generating body of the outer cylinder made of a metal is not positioned inside, in a mounting hole 22b of the mounting fitment with a press fitting interference of approximately 7.5-30 mm, the outer cylinder made of a metal is fixed at a mounting fitment in a state to keep airtightness.
