PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording label printed on the surface thereof and free of contamination even when solvents or waterdrops are adhered thereto, by printing a desired pattern on a protective layer by flexography using a flexographic ink comprising a dye dissolved in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:A recording surface of a thermal recording label can be obtained by providing a protective layer comprising a water-soluble high molecular weight substance as a main constituent on a thermal color forming layer, and printing a desired image on the protective layer by flexography using an ink comprising a dye dissolved in a solvent. The flexographic ink used for flexography is prepared by adding an organic colored pigment and a resin to a solvent, e.g., an alcohol, an ester, a ketone, an aromatic hydrocarbon or an aliphatic hydrocarbon, and optionally adding a UV absorber, an inorganic pigment or the like, followed by mixing. Since the ink used contains the solvent, flexographic printing can be easily carried out without dissolving the protective layer. Further, since the ink has a quick-drying property, blocking will not occur. |
