The intra-ocular lens comprises a lens or optical section and a fixing one with components holding it in position in the eye. The fixing haptics are of material with shape-producing characteristics and have a stable first functional shape to which they return after specific heat-treatment after distortion, to fix the lens section in position. The haptics can be of plastics or of metal such as a nickel-titanium alloy.
