PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of chipping by a method whrein the main arrangement prepared by arranging a heating body and a drawer electrode in a straight line and an auxiliary arrangement having a larger interval than the interval of arrangement of the main arrangement are provided on a dielectric layer provided on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The main arrangement 210 prepared by arranging a plurality of heating bodies 203 by thick-film resistance and drawer electrodes 204 in straight lines at an interval g1 on the dielectric layer 210 formed on the main surface of the substrate 200, while the auxiliary arrangement 220 is provided on one side or at both end parts of the main arrangement 210 at a larger interval g2 than the interval g1 of arrangement of the main arrangement 210, and a dielectric layer 205 preventing deterioration of the heating bodies 203 is provided in a region containing the whole area of the heating bodies 203 of the main arrangement 210 and the auxiliary arrangement 220, whereby the thermal head is constituted. And, the region of the thermal head containing the auxiliary arrangement 220 on one side or on both sides thereof is cut off and a plurality of the thermal heads are joined together, whereby a split-junction type thermal head is obtained. |
