HIGH LUMINANCE DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE AND LIGHTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high luminance discharge lamp lighting device for stably lighting a high luminance discharge lamp. SOLUTION: Inductors L2 and L3 saturate when starting glow discharge of the high luminance discharge lamp 8. When starting arc discharge of the high luminance discharge lamp 8, the inductors L2 and L3 start by supplying current of about several hundred mA for about 2 seconds in non-saturation states. When the high luminance discharge lamp 8 becomes a normal lighting state, an inverter circuit 22 is operated with a constant frequency of 46 kHz which almost coincides with a resonance frequency of a main circuit 23 at the time of non-load.
