The carrier bag made of thermoplastic film is distinguished by a large filling volume. The bag walls (11, 12) are bounded at the longitudinal edges by side folds (13, 13a; 14, 14a). The carrier bag is made from a flat web from which a tube is formed by a longitudinal welding seam (15). Below and above a hand-hole punch-out (18) there are transverse welds (16, 17) which connect the bag walls (11, 12) to the adjoining side folds. The single hand-hole reinforcement (19) present is connected to the wall (12) by a laminating adhesive. The gripping region is thus of a simpler design and can be manufactured more easily with improved strength. The use of film material is reduced because a single gripping edge reinforcement has greater strength than two reinforcements which, in total, have the thickness of only one reinforcement. <IMAGE> |
