In order to increase the pressure values and stabilise combustion, a blower for oil and gas blower burners has an axial intake opening whose opening (4) is restricted by a barrier plate (5) extending to the bottom of the housing (1), an insert (7) which broadens like a diffusor, and a guide cone (8) which covers the end of the spiral section. The spiral contour (9) is close to the impeller (2) at the start of the spiral section, and only reverts to the initial contour at the start of the opening (4).
