A jump lead cable includes a first, electrically insulated, flexible low-voltage lead (10) whose two end sections are electrically conductively connected to in each case one first, electrically insulated terminal clip (12, 14), and a second electrically insulated, flexible low-voltage lead (11) whose two end sections are each electrically conductively connected to a second, electrically insulated terminal clip (13, 15). In order to reliably avoid the occurrence of high peak voltages which could damage the electronics of the vehicle when carrying out a starting-aid process between the donor battery (2) of one vehicle (1) and the discharged battery (6) of the other vehicle (5), in addition at least one electrically conducting connection (20) is present between the first low-voltage lead (10) and the second low-voltage lead (11) and/or between its first terminal clip (12, 14) and its second terminal clip (13, 15). At least one voltage-dependent resistor whose conducting voltage lies above the operating voltage of conventional starter batteries for motor vehicles is inserted into this electrically conducting connection (20).
