In a twisting device with a driven twisting spindle 12 and with a bobbin carrier 22 driven in opposition, triple twist transmission is obtained. In order to keep the thread tensions within limits, provision is made for the bobbin carrier 22 to have a corotating inner casing 22c and for the spindle 12 to have an outer casing 30 corotating in opposition, both making it possible to store the thread material. <IMAGE>
